Born in 2016, Innsomnia is today a start-up accelerator and a prestigious business digitiser recognised in the field. Originally focused on Fintech, the firm then flourished to get closer to four other important technological sectors, such as Insurtech, Industry 4.0, Agritech and Navy.
The « No equity » model as their main philosophy
One of the reasons that prompted Francisco Estevan and Rafael Navarro to create Innsomnia was that the main international accelerators were investing in the start-ups they were working with, in the eventual attempt of selling them. Beyond this model, Innsomnia manages to expand thanks to the growth of start-ups: their aim is not to invest in them but to provide them with contracts with larger firms. « This has worked so well in Europe that several companies started to copy our model », said the administrators of this incubator located in one of Copa America’s former bases in Valencia, which has also been defined by the European press as the best facility of a Spanish accelerator in Europe.
A multi-sector accelerator
Innsomnia focuses its work on five major areas or verticals. They first started in the Fintech sector in Spain, then in Argentina, after that they expanded to industry, insurtech, navy and finally to agriculture. The accelerator offers everything a company needs in order to get digitised, from defining the needs to training, as well as looking for funding and, lastly, implementation. In other words, we are talking about a 360° digital transformation process. Concerning start-ups, their main objective is to connect with companies in a short period of time. This acceleration allows many start-ups to become technology-based SME in a few years only.
Local and international leadership
« We define ourselves as accelerators so that companies can quickly digitise their business with start-ups », said Francisco Estevan and Rafael Navarro, co-founders of Innsomnia. In recent years, the accelerator has become one of the most important global players in Europe, as leader of the international network and Venture Builders « The Talent Route ». At local level, Innsomnia is the accelerator of Puertos del Estado and won the first public tender for the digitisation of naval activity throughout Spain.
Innsomnia has all the tools to identify the best talents in the world to take them to Spain and, at the same time, it internationalises Spanish talents and makes them ready to meet the world.
